Teapot Bookmark Pattern

Materials: crochet cotton #10, 2 different colors, #7 steel hook, needle, scissors

MC: main color
CC: contrasting color
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dec: decrease
sl st: slip stitch

With MC ch 9.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. ch 1, turn.
Rows 2-5: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc across, 2 sc in last sc. ch 1, turn
Rows 6-12: sc across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 13-16: dec, sc across, dec in last 2 sc. ch 1, turn. Fasten off
Row 17: Attach CC in 1st sc, sc across. Fasten off.
Row 18: Attach MC is 1st sc, dec, sc across, dec in last 2 sc. ch 1, turn.
Row 19: dec, sc across, dec in last 2 sc. Fasten off.
Row 20: Attach CC in 1st sc, sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 21: dec across entire row, turn. You should have 1 sc at the end of this row.
Tassel Chain: Sl st into sc, chain 20-25, sl st into same sc. Fasten off.

Spout

Note: I'm right handed....left handed crocheters may need to have the top of the teapot to their left.

Row 1: With right side facing & the top of the kettle to your right, attach MC in end of row 12 from the bottom of teapot with sc, sc in the ends of the next 4 rows, ch1 , turn.
Row 2: sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. ch1, turn.
Row 3: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc across to last 2 sc, dec. ch1, turn.
Row 4: dec, sc across, 2 sc in last sc. ch 1, turn.
Row 5: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc across to last 2 sc, dec. ch 1, turn.
Row 6: dec, sc cross to last sc, 3 sc in last sc, 2 sc in end of next row down side of spout, sl st in next row. Fasten off.

Handle

On opposite side of teapot, attach CC with sc in 7th row from bottom of teapot, ch 10, sc, sl st into the end of row 12 of teapot. (The same row as where you started the spout.) Turn. Sc into ch space just made. Put enough sc in space to make the handle firm. Sl st into end of the same row as 1 sc of handle. Fasten Off.

Weave in all loose ends.

Make a tassel to your liking attach to tassel chain at top of the teapot.

Friendship Rings

This is from Hooked On Crochet magazine, June 2006. I have to admit I tried making this bookmark several times and always ended up frogging it. I tried it again recently...took some frogging and trying again but I finally got it done. Once I got to the 3rd motif it was smooth sailing from there on.

Strawberry Bookmark

This patterns is from the Happy Hooker's website. I'm not sure if it still exists. I couldn't find it when I was trying to find the link.

Marshmallow Bunny Bookmark

This is a pattern I found on the Crochetville Forum. I made mine into a bookmark. I still need to expertiment with thread & hook size to get the size I want. This one is made with crochet cotton #10 and #7 steel hook. I'd like it a little larger.
